I am assuming that the GPS on the phone hadn't updated enough for the software to really get a handle on the real speed. I realised as well that where I am doing the run is partly covered with trees so I would guess that is affecting the signal and thus accuracy.

Jeff, I finally tried out Dynomaster yesterday using my BT GPS and ran in to some issues.

Basically, I connected to the BT GPS service, connected to the device and the BT GPS app functioned correctly. I switched to Dynomaster and was able to properly select the BT device in the settings menu. However, it kept asking me to turn on my internal GPS, even with "Bluetooth" selected as the device in the settings. I tried swapping back and forth from "internal" to "bluetooth" and it made no difference.

If I turn on the internal GPS, the display seems to reflect the 1hz response time of the internal unit. If the internal GPS is off, I simply get the "Searching for GPS" animation and cannot use the app.

When this happened, I switched back to the BT GPS app and it was no longer connected (green "connected" light was off). I pressed "Connect" again and it paired back up with ease.

I will say that the GPS unit has been in the car for several weeks, but hasn't been used and did not indicate a low charge.
