I emailed another Acer Liquid customer who was able to fix his issue. This is his response:
Hi!
Yes, finally I've solved!
The problem was in the build.prop files of the latest roms!
You need to extract the build.prop from the phone, change it, and then resend it to the phone!
This is the sequence in the build.prop, you need to "unlock" all the market apps :
091121.121510
You need to change it in every line it appears in the file (3 times).
Otherwise I think the last official rom should work, they can find it on the acer ftp site! It is the 2.000.16 (always donut 1.6)!
