1.Quick Start

  • Using the Example Data - Example data can be downloaded from the Dynomaster web site. Click the following link to download example data. Explore the play and rewind features to animate the data. Tap on specific ET markers to view the ET times and speed. You can also view a list of ETs on the Time Slip menu option.
  • Logging Your Own Data - To log your own data, go to the Logger screen and hit the start button. By default, Dynomaster will start in Delayed mode which starts a countdown. Once the countdown hits zero, data will be logged. You can then view your data under the Runs menu option.

2.Logger

(Vertical Layout)

This is your main screen for logging your track data. Press the start button to start data collection. If "GPS not ready" is displayed, this means that the GPS does not have satellite lock or accuracy is poor. Please wait for the GPS to acquire satellites or for accuracy to improve. This also might occur if you're indoors where the GPS signal is weak.

Note: If you do not want phone calls to interrupt your logging run, set your phone to temporarily share calls to voicemail. On your phone go to Settings > Call Settings > Call forwarding.

3.Runs

Select a run to analyze from this screen.

Menu Options:

  • Import - Import and import a run file from your SDCARD.
  • Delete All - Delete all your runs.

4.Analyze Your Run

After selecting a run, you can play and rewind your track data. Tap the ET markers to view your split results. Tap the path to see data at that position.

Menu Options:

  • Edit - Use the option to add notes to the run. Change the run name or specify the vehicle or setup information for this run. When you share this run to a friend, the vehicle and setup information will be sent, too.
  •

  • Share - Use this option to brag about your track results. Share you track data as a Google Earth, spreadsheet file or image. The Google Earth file can be opened in Google Earth for replay and analysis. See the Google Earth section for more information. Other Dynomaster users can view the data, too. See the Importing Runs section for how to download a Google Earth file to your android device. The spreadsheet file can be opened with most spreadsheet applications (MS Office or Open Office) or uploaded to Google Docs to share via the web.
  •

  •

  • Dyno - Observe your speed, crank power, drag loss, and wheel power graphically.
  •

  • G-Meter - Plot your acceleration data in Gs. Use it to analyze your suspension improvements.
  •

5.Edit Your Profile

Edit your profile. When you share your track data, you can choose to include some personal information and a picture.

6.Vehicles

Menu Options:

  • New - Create a new vehicle.
  • Delete All - If needed, you can delete all your vehicles.

7.Edit Your Vehicle

Edit your vehicle information. Add a picture or icon. You can also add notes about your modifications. Add details suchs vehicle weight, drag coefficient, and frontal area. This data is used to calculate horsepower and drag loss.

8.Setups

Select a setup to view or edit. A setup allows you store vehicle setup information like tires pressures and suspension settings. A selected setup means that it will be linked to any new run.

Menu Options:

  • New - Create a new setup.

10.Settings

Control the operation of Dynomaster with these settings.
  • Orientation Mode - Change the layout of your screen. You can choose vertical, horizontal or sensor controlled orientaton.
  • Logger Layout - Choose your logger layout. Download more from the Android Market.
  • Start Mode - The Start Mode determines how Dynomaster will trigger logging data. Movement option will start logging after Dynomaster senses forward motion. Delayed option will start logging after 15 seconds. Dynomaster will give you a visual and audible countdown for this option. The Speed option will start logging after reaching a specified speed. Please specify the speed below.
  • Stop Mode - The Stop Mode determines how Dynomaster will stop logging data. The Manual option will stop logging after you manually by tapping the screen. The Speed option will start logging after reaching a specified speed.
  • Audio Mode - The audio mode determines what audio is played when split markers are crossed. With audio set to Speech, your speed and times will be spoken to you. For Speech Laps Only, only your lap times will be spoken to you. With Beep, a beep is played. And audio Off plays no audio.
  • Pocket Mode - Turns Pocket Mode On or Off. With this set to ON, you may lock the screen and place the phone in your pocket without worrying about stopping the logging. You can lock the screen using the standard lock key (typically the power key). This works great for motorcycle racers who would like to stow the phone instead of mounting it.
  • Units Mode - This specifies the units mode of Metric (m, km) or English (ft, miles).
  • Tips Mode - This enables or disables the Tips dialog.
  • Twitter Mode - With this set to ON, your times and speed will be posted to Twitter in real-time. This is a great way for your fans to keep track of your race progress.

11.Calculator

Use the 1/4 mile performance calculator to predict results like ET time, power, and drag loss. Try "what if" scenarios like weight reduction or improved aerodynamics and determine your potential results.

12.File Import

You can import runs and view them with Dynomaster. This is a great way to post and share your data. There are two ways to do this:
  • Email - Share the run as an attachment in email. Then open the attachment in your android phone email client. Dynomaster will recognize the attachment and guide you through importing the data.
  • Web Posting - Post your run to a public web page. Then open the posted file in your android phone web browser. Dynomaster will recognize the file and guide you through importing the data. If you post it to a web site, make sure your web server is configured to share the mime-type application/vnd.google-earth.kmz for KMZ files. You can also post your data to any forum.

  • GPS Tips
    • Before you start your logging, remain on the logging screen for a few minutes prior to tapping the start button. This will improve the acquisition of GPS satellites.
    • The GPS will assume you're at the same location as the last time you had a GPS fix and look for the satellites it expects to be able to see from that location. If you've moved more than 100 miles or so from that location, then your lock will take longer.
    • If possible, ensure that you have plenty of charge on your device or use a charger when logging data.
